Snapshots

A Snapshot is an immutable slice of your dataset that can be used as a control point for model training and drift maintenance. More specifically, a Snapshot is a View frozen at a specific point in time that contains annotations and datum split assignments and is saved in Chariot as a reference point.

Within the Snapshot tab of the Datasets section, you can create and manage Snapshots that you have created from the filtered Views of your dataset.

note

Your dataset must first contain a View in order for a Snapshot to be created.

To create a Snapshot, click +Create Snapshot. Then complete the following steps:

  • Select a View: Click the Search views field to browse through the Views already created for this dataset. Select the View that you want to use as part of your Snapshot.
  • Select a Point in Time: Select a point in time for the selected View. For each listed point in time, review the detailed information that is provided about the data and any images, annotations, objects, segments, and labels that accompany the data.
  • Enter a Snapshot Name: Provide a detailed name for your Snapshot.

Click +Create Snapshot to finish creating the Snapshot.

Once a Snapshot has been created, you can open it to see specific information about the Snapshot, including the breakdown of train, test, and validation data.

Click the ellipsis button (...) to rename, download, or delete the Snapshot.
